Cinsault proves you don’t have to be big to be great! The fruit came from Henry Coufos in Rough and Ready, CA who supplies us with most of our Rhone varieties. He only has a small amount of Cinsault on his property and we don’t always have access to it, but when we get it we feel pretty lucky. The fruit was destemmed into a picking bin and allowed to ferment spontaneously. It was aged in neutral barrel so you won’t taste any oak. Red-fruit focused with flavors of cherries and raspberries, this wine is medium-bodied and low in structure. We were only able to make 21 cases of what I think you’ll agree is a very elegant wine.
